4 Sensory Food Play For Babies | Free Printable

We all know babies love to play in food and get messy so here is my 4 Sensory Food Play For Babies and a Free Mom Printable. Sebastian is 10 months old and really getting into the sensory food play but you can start these as little as 4 months. They are all safe, affordable, easy ways to entertain a baby. Which we all need during this pandemic, am I right? The 4 I picked were jello sensory play for baby, edible sand for baby, chickpea foam for baby (garbanzo bean), and water sensory play for baby.

Jello Sensory Play For Baby

Jello is so fun, you can do so much with it. The con is that it takes like 1-4 hours to set, so make sure you plan enough time for that. I made the jello per package then add toys into it for Sebastian to dig out. Some other ideas are to make blue jello as the sea and add the cheerio sand (next section) to make a beach version. You could also do a gelatin art cake or use red jello with crushed-up chocolate wafers for a volcano.

Edible Sand For Baby

Edible sand is so easy to make and there are many variations. The most popular is cheerios crushed/blended but you can use many kinds of cereal. You could also make chocolate sand with chocolate wafers or seasoned sand with flavorful wheat crackers. If you add water you could make a thicker paste for your baby to play with also.

Chickpea Foam For Baby

For this foam you take the juice from a garbanzo or chickpeas can and mix in a little starch, then whisk it up until foamed. You can add colored drops too if you want different colors to play with. Its safe for baby, and still affordable.

Water Sensory Play For Baby

Water is so versatile since it can be ice and snow too. Babies love to play in water so even a dish with water will keep their attention for so long. You can add toys obviously or like mentioned above make a beach version. For ice you can freeze little toys in the cubes or let the baby experience melting of the ice cubes. For snow you can blend up ice cubes for handmade snow. This is fun for us because we don’t get snow in South Carolina!
